631 miles covered! Late start today. Now driving cross country with automatic since we couldn’t find the title to the stick. Plus, prospect of having a stick in San Francisco seems bleak at best since I live life at the top of the hill.

Highway 10 from Florida to Alabama to Mississippi to New Orleans, more or less looks the same – a lot of tree farms. We stocked up on snacks before hitting the road: bacon and cheddar fries, snickers and clementines from my brother; 3 jars of Gundelsheim’s pickles, snack sticks, pretzels, bananas and a veggie sandwich from Publix.

Arrived in time for a scrumptious dinner at Herb Saint followed by my first ever Sazarac. Tomorrow, we’ll spend the morning in the French Quarter before heading off to Cielito Ranch near Houston and stopping in Austin.

Note: We never made it to Niceville, got as close as 18 miles away.
